The Dalles Chronicle, January 6, 2005
     Joann Irene Bellomy, 76, a resident of The Dalles, died at home Monday, 
Jan. 3, 2005.
     She was born June 11, 1928 in Klamath Falls to William Daniel and Norma 
(Kliever) Black. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland and 
attended Oregon State College in Corvallis for four years before final 
graduation from St. Mary’s Academy of Nursing in Walla Walla. She married 
Kermit J. “Jim” Bellomy on Feb. 20, 1956 in Stevenson, and together they 
traveled with his military career to many places. They lived in Washougal, 
Wash., for a number of years. She worked as a bartender and was a member of 
the Bartenders Union as well as the auxiliaries of the Elks, American Legion, 
Moose, and the Order of the Eastern Star. 
     She enjoyed traveling in the motor home with her husband, working at 
leathercraft and beadwork projects and cared for her many feline friends. She 
moved to The Dalles to be near family after Mr. Bellomy’s death in 1999.
     Survivors include her children, sons Daniel Wayne Bilbruck, Nevada City, 
Nev.; Thomas Edward Bilbruck, Bremerton, Wash.; and Robert George Bilbruck, 
Salem; daughter Georgia Elizabeth Malcolm, The Dalles; seven grandchildren and 
four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by a 
brother Robert George Black and a sister, Doris Darlene Huff.
     Graveside services will be held at the Fort Vancouver Post Cemetery in 
Vancouver, Wash., on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at 1 p.m. as she is buried beside 
her husband. 
     Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Gorge, 719 Myrtle 
Street, The Dalles, OR 97058. Arrangements are by Columbia Cremation & Burial.
