     Lucille Jim Begay, 62, of the Celilo Indian Village, died Thursday, May 
11, 2006, in a Portland area hospital.
     She was born on Jan. 1, 1944, in Goldendale, Wash., to Howard and Maggie 
(Waters) Jim, the fourth of ten children. She grew up in Celilo Wy-Am. She 
married Roger Begay on March 24, 2004, and was a homemaker.
     Lucille was a member of the Celilo Wy-Am Longhouse, and enjoyed fishing, 
preserving traditional Indian food, Indian food gathering, traveling, sewing, 
bead working, and teaching children and grand children traditional ways.
     She is survived by Rodger Begay Jr. (CeCe), Satus, Wash.; Wilson Begay 
(Roxanne), Celilo; Bobby Begay, Celilo; Delilah Begay, Celilo; Lucille K. 
Begay, Celilo, and 15 grandchildren.
     A Home Shaker church service was held on Friday, May 12, in the evening; 
a dressing was held on Saturday, May 13, 10 a.m. at the Celilo Wy-Am 
Longhouse, and a Washut service at 7 p.m.; Sunday at 7 p.m. a Washut service 
was held; Monday, 7 a.m. left for burial from Celilo Wy-Am Longhouse at 7 a.m. 
to the Satus Point Cemetery in Washington, and returning in the evening to the 
Celilo Wy-Am Longhouse for cry service, dinner, and a giveaway.
     Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home are in care of arrangements.
     Remembrances can be made to the Begay Family, of Celilo Wy-Am.
