Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 26, 2006, 11:26 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 2, 1984 Alfred Hunter Bayley, 86, a resident of The Dalles, died Friday at Mid- Columbia Medical Center. He was born Sept. 7, 1897 in The Dalles. Mr. Bayley formerly lived in San Francisco where he was in the automotive business. He served in the military in World War I and World War II and was a member of the Willard Anderson Post of the VFW in The Dalles. He was the grandson of D. J. Cooper, a pioneer family in this area. Survivors include a son, Russell Bayley, Burlingame, Calif.; three sisters, Miss Dorothy Bayley, The Dalles; Mrs. John (Nancy) Reed, Carmel, Calif., and Mrs. Clarence (Katherine) Bell, Naselle, Wash.; five grandchildren, and numerous cousins, including Mrs. Phyllis Klindt, The Dalles. At his request, no funeral services were conducted. Cremation was in Portland. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
