Katherine “Kay” Barzee, 79, a long time resident of The Dalles and recently a resident of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died on Jan. 26, 2006, in Popular Bluff. She was born Aug. 25, 1926 in Brownwood, Mo. She always took pride in her home and was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed collecting ceramic chickens. She and her first husband, Charles A. Davis, moved to The Dalles from Missouri in 1948. They had three sons and were divorced in the 1950s. Her most recent husband, Elden Barzee, preceded her in death on March 14, 2001. Survivors include her sons, Charles “Dee” Davis and his wife, Virginia, Larry Joe Davis and his wife, Darlene, all of The Dalles; and Kenneth Davis, Avondale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gladys Deering, East Alton, Ill.; Myrtle McIntyre and Irene Westphall, both of Poplar Bluff; and many nieces and nephews. Cotrell Funeral Services of Poplar Bluff was in charge of arrangements.
