The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 12, 1988
     David W. Barrett, 78, died at a Hood River nursing home Feb. 4.  He was a 
lifetime resident of The Dalles.
     Mr. Barrett was born in The Dalles on April 18, 1909 to Randall and 
Bessie Barrett.  He lived on Mill Creek Road all his life until he entered the 
nursing home.
     He is survived by a brother, James R. Barrett of Portland; two nephews, 
Randy Barrett of The Dalles and Bob Barrett of Aloha; two nieces, Barbara 
Baldridge and Kristin Cunningham of Portland; 10 great-nieces and nephews and 
four great-great-nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services were held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery officiated by Rev. 
Thornton Gapen.  Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home was in charge of 
arrangements.
