The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 12, 1982
     Olive Marie Barnett, 87, a resident of The Dalles since 1941, died Feb. 6 
at the local hospital.

     She was born June 7, 1894 at Kent.

     Mrs. Barnett was the daughter of Henry and Emma Schadewitz, and grew up 
in the Kent area.  She married Ernest Barnett on Feb. 26, 1913.

     The couple farmed in the Kent area until 1921 when they moved to Gilliam 
County and farmed there prior to moving to The Dalles where they farmed in the 
Eight-mile area.  Mr. Barnett died last August.

     Mrs. Barnett was a member of the Baptist Church and the Azalea Rebekah 
Lodge.

     Survivors include a son, Leo Barnett, Condon; a daughter, Mrs. John (Emma 
Jean) Stanek, The Dalles; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a 
brother; Melvin Schadewitz, and a sister, Lola Barnett, both of The Dalles.  
Two sons, Louis and Ray Barnett died earlier.

     Funeral services were Feb. 9 at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home with 
Pastor Delmer Anderson officiating.  Vault entombment followed at The Dalles 
IOOF Cemetery.

     Pallbearers were Jonn and Chuch Stanek, Carl and Bill Barnett, and John 
Schadewitz and Rex Kniesteadt.

     Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
