He was born in White Salmon, Washington, on August 19, 1937, one of seven children to Leora Genevieve (McKee) and Datus Edward Barnedt. He lived in White Salmon most of his life, working as a log truck driver for local timber companies. In 1961 he married Sally Cooke. To this union were born three children, Jacqueline, John and Corey. In 1974, he bought his own log truck and continued working as a private contractor. He later moved to Eastern Washington where he worked on a wheat ranch. Three years ago, he moved to Sedro Woolley to be nearer to family. He was a past member of the Eagles Lodge. Survivors include daughter Jacqueline Earl (Don) and her three children, Kylie Louise, Charles Jacob and Levi Datus, all of Woodston, Kansas; son John David Barnedt and wife Dawn of Pendleton (Oregon), and their children, John David Jr. and Joshua Denton, Fallon, Nevada; son Corey Vincent Barnedt and wife Karen and their three children Kassandra Grace, Forest Skylar Schuck and Brook Elizabeth, Concrete, Washington; his siblings Bill Barnedt, Boise, Idaho; Marvin Barnedt, Anaconda, Montana; Leora Ramsay, Arlington (Oregon); identical twin James "Jim" Barnedt, White Salmon, and Bob Barnedt, Fairbanks, Alaska. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Lavonne Mann. A funeral service was held on January 16 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in White Salmon, with interment following at the White Salmon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the church of one's choice in care of Gardner Funeral Home, P.O.
