He resided in The Dalles for the past 24 years. He was born July 3, 1936 in Clinton, Tenn. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in The Dalles. Mr. Bailey had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Martin Marietta for 16 years before he purchased a truck and became a truck owner-operator until he retired for health reasons. Survivors include his wife, Virginia, The Dalles; a son, Coby, Lyle, Wash.; a daughter, Anita Blake, The Dalles; two grandsons, Coby Bailey, Jr. and Corey Blake, The Dalles; and two sisters, Mary Ruth Rojas, Sacramento, Calif., and Martha Coller, Gary, Ind. Funeral services were at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home Tuesday with the Rev. Mitch Martin officiating. Burial was in the veteran's section of Parklawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Douglas, Robert, Donald, Richard and Michael Walton and Hugh Dunn. Honorary pallbearers were Butch Hert, Ira Brittle, Dallas Denton, Harrison Bolds and Jack Patchett. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Fund or the Oregon Heart Fund.
