The Dalles Weekly Reminder, October 6, 1983
     Rosa May Bailey, 80, a resident of Mosier for 78 years, died Friday at 
Mid-Columbia Medical Center.
     She was born March 7, 1903 in Mosier.
     Mrs. Bailey was a lifelong member of the Mosier Christian Church.
     Survivors include a grandson, Glenn Vargus, and a great-grandson, Neil 
Vargus, both of Aloha; a son-in-law, William C. Vargus, Forest Grove; and a 
sister-in-law, Aneta Carroll, Woodburn; several nephews, nieces and cousins.
     Funeral services were Tuesday at the Mosier Christian Church with Pastor 
Rick Miller and Jim Buchanan officiating.
     Casketbearers were Ted Ulkus, Emmett Maine, Elmer Lierman, Lloyd Bailey, 
Steve Bailey and Willis Gholston.  Private cremation followed.
     Contributions are suggested to the Mosier Christian Church or the 
American Cancer Society.
     Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
