The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 8, 1982
     Nellie Edna Bahem, 74, who lived in The Dalles for the past 45 years, 
died Dec. 31 at her home. 
     She was born on Jan. 27, 1907 in Mt. Vernon, Ill.
     Survivors include her two step-sons, Albert and Herbert Schmoker, both of 
The Dalles; three grandchildren and several great- and great-great-
grandchildren; three sisters, Leona Johnson and Fay Barnett, both of Mt. 
Vernon, and Doris Dulaney, East St. Louis, Ill., and a brother, Roy Hays, of 
Mt. Vernon.
     Funeral services were held Jan. 5 at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home 
with Lt. Scott Vincent officiating.  Burial was at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.
     Pall bearers were Harold and Frank Pyles, Minor Brady, Larry Hughes, Dale 
Russell and Hugo Lutz.
     Memorials may be made to American Cancer Fund or the Salvation Army 
Memorial Fund.
