The Dalles Chronicle, June 17, 2005
     Margaret Helen Augustus, 83, a longtime resident of Wishram, died at the 
local hospital on Thursday, June 16, 2005.
     She was born Jan. 7, 1922 in Aloha, to Ernest J. and Maude (VanSlyke) 
Wolfe. She attended schools in Beaverton and graduated from Beaverton High 
School.
     She married Frank E. Augustus on Feb. 19, 1946 in Aloha, and they moved 
with their young family to Wishram in 1948, so he could work for the Spokane, 
Portland and Seattle Railroad. 
     She enjoyed spending time with her family, her roses, gardening and was a 
life-long animal lover. 
     She is survived by her daughter, Patsy and her husband, Loren Delaney, 
The Dalles; her son, Larry Augustus, Decatur, Texas; grandchildren, Jeff and 
Amy Augustus, Wishram; Marcie and Keith Keylock, Oregon City; Amanda and Brian 
Whaley, Aubrey, Texas; Jenna and Tom Nuzzi, The Dalles; Mindy and Ryan King, 
Beaverton; Mike and Katie Augustus, South Lake, Texas; John Kirk and Krista, 
Portland; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Frank in 1994, her daughter, Terrill Jean Augustus Kirk in 1983, and 
her grandson, Jacob Augustus in 1989.
     Private family services were held at The Dalles Odd Fellows Memorial 
Mausoleum. Cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, 
Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
