The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 29, 1983
     Fred Alfred Anghilante, 74, a resident of The Dalles, died Sunday at a 
local nursing home.
     He was born Aug. 9, 1909 in Benld, Ill.
     Mr. Anghilante moved to The Dalles in 1946 and lived here until 1954.  He 
worked as a self-employed contractor-mason, and worked on the construction of 
many local buildings.  He moved to St. Louis in 1954 and worked for the school 
system there and after his retirement moved back to The Dalles in 1979.
     He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Retired Senior 
Citizens, the Senior Bowling League, the AARP and the Independent Order of 
Foresters.
     Survivors include a son, Edwin F., The Dalles; a sister, Florence 
Wosmanski, St. Louis; and four grandchildren, Carol, Erin, Blake and Caitlin, 
all of The Dalles.  Another son, Dennis, died in 1963.
     Recitation of the rosary was yesterday (Wednesday) at Spencer, Libby & 
Powell Funeral Home.  Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Peter Catholic 
Church today with the Rev. Martin Quigley officiating.  Burial was at St. 
Peter Cemetery.
     Pallbearers were John Geiger, Chet Oliver, Bill Martin, Tony Foote, Don 
Duvall, Darrell Klampe and Ed Schallhorn.
