Andrews, 86, a former resident of The Dalles, died Dec. 19, 2005, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Wash., after a short illness. He was born in Everett, Wash., May 21, 1919. He graduated from Richmond Beach High School. He attended one year of college, then enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He joined the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. In 1974, he retired after 17 years from the Corps of Engineer at The Dalles Dam, where he had been a shop machinist, and moved to Whidbey Island, Wash. When his wife, Millie, died in 2000 after 54 years of marriage, he moved into a manufactured home in Puyallup. He loved playing pool, garage sales, swap meets and car shows. He is survived by his brothers Bill and John, and sister-in-law Delores, stepson Jim and wife Darlene, stepdaughter Toni and husband Howard, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
