Katherine Bele Anderton, 83, died Saturday at a Gladstone nursing home.

Mrs. Anderton was born Oct. 9, 1900 in Olex, and lived in The Dalles from 1944 
to 1980, when she moved to Gladstone.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in The Dalles, and the 
Azalea Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by a son, William A. Anderton, Merriam, Kan.; two daughters:  
Carolyn L. Romjue, Gladstone; and Maxine Chamberlain, Coeur D' Alene, Idaho; 
two sisters: Mrs. John (Nell) Gerety, Wichita, Kan.; and Hilda Angell, 
Portland; 12 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.  Her husband W. A. 
Anderton died January 1970.

Funeral services were held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home Tuesday, 
July 24.

Burial followed in the veterans section of the Odd Fellows Cemetery.  
Memorials are suggested to the charity of choice.
