Wakley iwakley@msn.com and June 21, 2006, 8:04 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 27, 1983 Floyd Francis Anderson, 64, a resident of Gilliam County since 1937, died Friday in a Portland hospital. He was born May 18, 1919 in Albany. He was raised on a farm near Corvallis, where he lived until moving to Gilliam County where he went to work on the Walter Hartfield ranch. He married Martha Hartman in Yakima, Wash., in 1941. Mr. Anderson served in the Army in World War II in Europe. He was a member of the Condon Elks Lodge, the Oregon Wheat League, the Farm Bureau and the Mikkalo Grange. Survivors include his wife, Martha, Arlington; two sons, Alan F. Anderson, Arlington, and Alva W. Anderson, Aloha, three grandchildren, a brother, Eldon, Portland; and a sister, Thela Roberson, Lebannon. Funeral services were Tuesday at the Arlington Nazarene Church with the Rev. Greg Hicks officiating. Burial was at the Arlington Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Ryan and Rundolph Steinke, Marion Weatherford, Earl Liston, Luke Wetherell and Audie Jolliff. Active pallbearers were Carroll Olsen, Dave Childs, Rick Minister, Rich Harper, Gene Mulkey and Van Reitman. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Onocology Department at Providence Hopital in Portland.
