Wakley iwakley@msn.com May 8, 2006, 11:45 am The Dalles Weekly Reminder, August 18, 1983 Marvin Andrew Anderson, 76, a resident of Hood River and a former resident of The Dalles, died Aug. 10 at his daughter's home in Hood River. Mr. Anderson was born June 5, 1907 in Provo, Utah. He moved from Provo to Idaho when he was a boy and married Lula Anderson in Burley, Idaho on Sept. 28, 1932. He moved from Idaho to Portland where he worked in the shipyards during World War II and had lived in The Dalles from 1952 until November of 1982. He and his wife moved to Hood River to live with a daughter. He was employed as a carpenter-welder for most of his life and had worked on dam construction projects in the area. Survivors include his wife, Lula, Hood River; three daughters, Alice Roderick, Citrus Heights, Calif.; Vida Corpe, Hood River, and Marva Buchholz, Centralia, Wash.; a son, Rex Henderson, Boise; 12 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, six brothers, Omar, Aston, Jake, Clyde, June and Merlin Anderson, all in Idaho, and three sisters, Josie Anderson, Pearl Day and Elaine Scheinost, also all in Idaho. Graveside services were Friday at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery with Pastor Jim Gentry officiating. Anderson Funeral Home in Hood River was in charge of services. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Hood River.
