The Dalles Chronicle, September 28, 2004
     V. June Allyn, 80, a resident of The Dalles for the last 20 years, died 
on Sept. 27, 2004.
     She was born Virginia June Hines on March 11, 1924 in Portland to Howard 
and Elva Hines of Wasco. She lived in Wasco until she graduated from Wasco 
High School in 1942 and married William Melvin Allyn on Oct. 10, 1945.
     She left Sherman County in 1966 and lived in Heppner, Umatilla and 
Hermiston and spent six years in Alaska before coming to The Dalles.
     She is survived by six children, Patti Britton, Newport; Lorrie Evans, 
Sandy; Mike Alsup, Beaverton; Beverly Ohngren, Siletz; Thomas Alsup, Irrigon; 
and Sally Jackson, Colville, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and five great 
grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 
Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2819 W. 10th St.
     Memorials may be made to The Link community bus service or to the Macular 
Degeneration Foundation.
