Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 28, 2006, 6:42 pm The Dalles Chronicle, July 5, 2006 Clarence “Clancy” Allen, 62, a resident of The Dalles, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at his home. He was born on April 21, 1944, in The Dalles, the oldest of five children to James Roy and Violet Mae (Leigh) Allen. He grew up in The Dalles, and later joined the Navy. He married Dichera Lea Brace in July 1969 in Reno, Nev., (whom he later divorced) and married Paula Marie Telfer in 1979 in The Dalles (whom he later divorced). He was a rock crusher operator for a paving company, and was a member of the Salvation Army. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, rock hunting, mining, sewing, and upholstery. He is survived by his mother, Violet Wilson, The Dalles; daughter Chelsy Allen-Rogers and her husband Brian Rogers, The Dalles; son George Steven Allen and Mercedes, Whidbey Island; brother Steven and Arlene Allen, Chemult; sister Sandra and Larry Peterson, Dallesport; brother Jerry and Aliana Wilson, Albany; brother Jeff Wilson, Dufur; uncle Chester Pratt, Dufur; aunt Dorothy Griffin, The Dalles; aunt Betty Clark, Dufur; grandson Benjamin Allen, The Dalles; grandson Samuel Rogers, The Dalles; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Pallbearers are: Steven Allen; George Allen; Larry Peterson; Jerry Wilson; Jeff Wilson; Ron Leigh. A viewing visitation will be held Wednesday, July 5, at Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home at 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., and a graveside service will be held at the IOOF 18th Street Cemetery at 1 p.m. Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
