Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 28, 2006, 6:26 pm The Dalles Chronicle, June 27, 2006 James Aldrich, 76, a resident of Sherwood, died at his home on June 23, 2006, following a battle with cancer. He was born in Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho, on Dec. 27, 1929, the son of James and Leona E. (Walter) Aldrich. He grew up and was educated in Bonner’s Ferry and graduated from high school with the class of 1948. Following graduation he joined the Navy during the Korean conflict. He lived in Astoria for 17 years, working as a tax accountant. He enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Astoria Hayshakers Square Dance Club. He moved to the Portland area about 20 years ago and continued to be a self employed accountant. He also enjoyed square dancing with the River City Square Dance Club. He was a member of the OAIA and served as liaison for the Oregon State Board of Accountants and the OAIA. He was also a member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed traveling, cooking and most of all his family. Survivors include his wife, Vivian Munsterman-Aldrich, Sherwood; a son, Dan Aldrich, Moro; two daughters, Rose Cheatle and Lea Hain, both of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to a public celebration of his life at his residence in Sherwood on July 8 at 3 p.m. Interment will be private at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Alternative Burial and Cremation of Oregon, 14990 SW Tualatin-Sherwood Road, No. 404 in Sherwood is in care of arrangements.
