     Robert "Bob" Allen Adams, 79, a resident of Wishram for 62 years, died at 
his home on Wednesday, June 23, 2004.
     He was born Jan. 12, 1925, in Whitefish, Mont., to Frederick A. and 
Minerva H. (Madole) Chester. He grew up in Whitefish and graduated from 
Whitefish High School in 1944. 
     After high school, he started working for Spokane, Portland and Seattle 
Railroad as a hosteler helper in Dec. 1944, in Wishram. In May, 1958, he began 
as a fireman and then became an engineer for SP&S and later for Burlington 
Northern, retiring in the late 80s. 
     He married Dordena Helen Sheridan on June 26, 1949, in Wishram, 
Washington and she preceded him in death in February 2000.
     He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, former member of BPOE in 
White Salmon, and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.
     He is survived by his son, Fred and his wife, Teleia Adams, Dallesport; 
grandsons, Jerrad Adams, Dallesport and Brenton Adams, The Dalles; many 
nieces, nephews and cousins.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on 
Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Todd Unger as celebrant. Interment 
will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Smith Callaway Chapel is in care 
of arrangements.
     Memorial donations may be made to Celilo Center, 1800 East 19th Street, 
The Dalles, OR 97058.
