Larison 1908 - 1998 Emmy Larison, 89, of La Grande died Saturday, Jan. 10, at a local care facility. Cremation and a private family service are being handled by Daniels Chapel of the Valley in La Grande. Mrs. Larison was born Oct. 31, 1908 at Cuencame Durango, Mexico, to Frank and Amelia Knotts. She grew up in El Paso, Texas. While attending St. Mary's, she met John S. Larison, a student at Notre Dame. They married on Sept. 28, 1929, in El Paso and moved to La Grande, where they spent the rest of their lives. Mr. Larison died July 6, 1980. Mrs. Larison had a great love for children and taught private kindergarten in her home for more than two decades. She also enjoyed nature, and spent countless hours in her flower garden. During long walks on the family's mountain property, she identified and shared her knowledge of the wild flowers growing there, the family said. Survivors include two sons, John F. of Stateline, Nev., and Craig of La Grande; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anita Rial of Pebble Beach, Calif. Her brother, Frank died earlier.
