The body was lying on the rocks at the base of Tillamook head and near it,sticking in the sand was a shovel.it was examined by Dr O.C. Hagmeier that no water had entered the lungs and it is believed that Bowman died of apoplexy while digging clams. A business card, bearing the name and business address of Bowman was found in the clothing of the dead man, forms the chief basis of the belief of the coroner that the body is that of the Portland contractor. The body was that of a man apparently between 60 and 65 years old, fully 6 feet tall and weighing close to 300 pounds.the head was very bald and the fringe of hair was gray. Bowman owned a farm about half way between Wilsonville and Sherwood for several years, and near here his daughter,Mrs Charles Toose at present resides.Besides the daughter,mr Bowman is survived by his wife.
