Clackamas County Independent May 12,1899
Jacob Stuckey of Needy who received serious injuries in the wagon bridge 
accident at New Era last Thursday died Monday evening.An inquest was held on 
the remains.There was no question that death was the result of the 
accident,the coroners jury desiring to ascertain the condition of the bridge 
at New Era.The jury found that the structure was sound and exonerated the 
county from any liablity for the accident.
The body of Mr Stuckey was buried at Sunnysdie cemetary,near Needy,Tuesday 
afternoon by the G.A.R.He left a wife and one daughter,Mrs Morris Myers of 
Molalla.Mr Stuckey has been a resident of Clackamas County for 12 years.
