Hood ViewJan 4,On December 26 at Butteville occurred the death of James 
Roberts an old pioneer of this vicinty.He came to Oregon with his parents 
across the plains in 1851 and his parents took up a donation land claim in the 
vicinity of what is now Mulloy,Washington County.He was married to Mehale Proe 
in 1866 and settled on a farm in Hood View and to them were born seven 
children,Sam,John,Sep,Retta,Emma,Ella and Dora.His wife died a number of years 
ago and he is survived by 5 children and a number of relatives.
He was buried in Pleasant Hill cemetary.
