Funeral Services Held Monday for S.T Rider
Funeral services for the late Samuel Rider, were held from the Canby methodist 
Church on Monday afternoon,April 21,at 2:30 o'clock.with Rev W Boyd 
Moore,pasot of the church officiating,with internment in the Zion cemetary 
near this city,S.A Miller,funeral director of Aurora,had charge of the funeral 
arrangments
Samuel T Roderpassed away at the home of his son,Wm Rider near Canby on April 
20th,at the age of 86 years,7 months,and 23 days.
He was a resident of Canby for 29 years,coming from Kansas where he settle din 
an early day.He was a Civil War veteran,serving three years as a private in 
Co."D".115 New York Regiment.
A widow and five children,thirty two grand children and two sisters survive 
him.The children are as follows:
H.J Rider,Belleville,Kansas;Mrs Cora Melton,Wiley,Colo.;Mrs Emma 
Chute,Spokane,Wash.;Mrs Hattie Hart,Seaside,oregon,and Wm D Rider,Canby Oregon
