Two weeks before the death of his wife he went to Yaquiuna to attend the bedside of a sick child. Up to the day she died was in her usual health.Sometime in the forenoon she bacem suddenly ill and in afew fours was cold in death, having died in convulsions. Her husband was alone in the room with her,and the first information other persons in the same house were afforded concerning her condition was the announcement of her death. When they went ot dress her for the grave a newly born six months babe was found in the bed.A physician well informed of the symptons attending Mrs.Norton's death states that they are the same invariably manifested in arsenic poisoning.Norton's true name is Masonfield, and his reasons for sailing under an alias are unknonw.Sufficient suspicion attached to the affair that Deputy Sheriff Martin came out last Thursday with instructions to exhume the body and cause an examination of the contents of the stomach.
