Man Who Saved oregon For U.S Passes Away
Francis Xavier Matthieu,last survivor of the provisional government in Oregon 
and the man whose vote kept this state within United States boundaries is dead 
at his home near Butteville.Mr Matthiue was 96 years old.he had been ill since 
January 1st
