Deth Of Jacob Conser
He Served Several Terms In The Oregon Territorial Legisalture
Eugene,Or.,March 18-Jacob Conser,who is well knwon throughout the Willamette 
valley,died at the family residence in this city this forenoon ay 9:50,of 
pneumonia.
(Jacob Conser was born in Union,Pa.,February 20,1818.February 28,1839,he was 
marriedin Knox county,Illinois to Nancy Gunsaulus.Several children resulted 
from this union.The family cae across the plains to the Pacific coast,arriving 
in Oregon in the fall of 1848.They settle din the Santiam country,where they 
lived for thirty years,during which period Mrs.Conser died.Mr.Conser and the 
children  then moved to Jefferson,where they lived until 1881.Eigh of these 
children are still living.Mr.Conser has also one sister living in this 
county,Mrs.Burnet of Sweet Home.Her served several terms in the territorial 
legislature during th epioneer days of Oregon.Iin 1881 he removed to 
Eugene,and may 5 was married to Elizabeth Felix-Humphrey,who urvive him.The 
funeral will take place tomorrow at Jefferson,Marion county,at 1 P.M.Short 
services willbe held at the residence in this city in the ofrenoon.
