Mrs John Combs Passes Away At Lebanon Home
The following item is a clipping from the Lebanon Crterion and refers the 
death of Mrs John Combs,of that city.It will be remembered by many Canby 
people that Mr and Mrs Combs were residents of this city for many years,Mr 
Combs having conducted a real estate office here.Mrs Combs is the mother of 
Charlie Combs of this city.
"Sophie Weissinger was born in Mt vernon,Indiana,August 30,1855,died November 
24,1922
She was married to John G Combs August 9,1878.Five children were born to their 
union.She joined the Chrsitian church at the age of 18.She came West with her 
family in 1891,and had made her home here since then.
She leaves to mourn her deathg her husband,John G Combs,and one sister,Mrs B F 
Grabel,of Amity,Oregon,and five children,Mrs Angie Walker,of Lebanon,Charlie 
Combs,of Canby,Ore.,Henry and Geroge Combs of Portland,and Mrs Mayme Red of 
Scio,and nine grandchildren,besides a host of friends.
She was buried at Providence,Rev Cole Crabtree officiating"
