Yesterday Coroner Hughes was notified of a sudden death at 519 Market street.he went to the place at once, ans the manner in which he handled the case indicated that he would have little difficulty in officiating as coroner. The name of the deceased was ascertained to be Robert Lucsk,a carpenter, about 60 years of age.He had been living at the house with the family of William Clark for about six months.Yesterday afternoon Mrs.Clark heard a heavy fall in Lusk's room and suspecting that something was wrong ran there. She found the man lying there on the floor gasping for breath. Before she could summon assistance he had died. There was nothing to do then but notify the coroner, and the body was removed to the morgue. Coroner Hughes searched Lsk's personal effects and foun certificates of deposits, showing that he had several hundred dollars in different banks. He also had letters from parties in Pullman,Wash.,indicating that the writers were personal friends. These have ben notified and aksed to to disposition of the remains. From what could be learned Lusk had no relatives. He was very reticient regarding himself and had little to say as to his past life. Dr.A.C.Smith examined the body at the morgue and was of the opinion, that death was due to natural casues, probably heart disease, but he will make further examination and be ready to report at the inquest, which will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/or/multnomah/obits/l/lusk3388gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/orfiles/ File size: 2.5 Kb
