She had inquired from Mr.Pitts, their housekeeper, concerning the road to Island Park, and when this became known the search extended to the river and was pursuded all through the night. But it was not unitl Friday afternoon that the unforunate woman's body was found floating in the river.Members of the searching party found her hat before noon and continued to drag the river for some distance below the dam.The timid little woman, always depending on her husband as an escort when going out in theevening, braved her way through darknes of the night and over a lonely road to Island Park,a distance of more than a mile, where she ended her life. Mrs.Graham had lived in Canbu for a number of years and was loved by all who were fortunateenough to enjoy her acquaintance. It is natural enough that her tragic death brought sorrow to the entire community. She had been in ill health for more than a year, having spent some time in Portland receiving treatment at a sanitarium, and when she failed to find relief she became despondant and at times her condition was alarming to her husband and many friends in Canby. The funeral was held in the Catholic Churh yesterday forenoon at 10 o'clock - ,having been postpned pending the arrival of Mrs.Grahams brother from the east.Internment was made in the Catholic Cemetary in Portland. The church was filled with sorrowing friends in thecommunityy where Mrs.Graham had lived so long, and many followed the remains to Portland File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/or/multnomah/obits/g/graham2722gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/orfiles/ File size: 3.1 Kb
