There was no one present at the time of the accident, but it is supposed that the unfortunate man fell between the horses as he was attempting to wter them in a creek on his way home, and was entangled in the reins and dragged and kicked to death.Mr. Sterling, a neighbor, who was coming to Vancouver, met the running team and stopped them, when he found a man was entangled in the harness and being dragged at a terrific rate.Fisher was taken to the store at Proebstel, but he died before assistance could be obscured. Fisher was about 69 years of age, and a native of the State of New York. He was discharged from the Army in this city about 40 years ago. He remained here ever since, and has reared a family,no trace of which is known by neighbors or friends of this community.
