Deceased name   Elmer Gene Cavett

Elmer Gene Cavett died of cancer Wed in his SE Portland home. A private 
memorial service has been held. He was 59

He was born Jan 3, 1934 in Eugene, but moved to the Portland area when he was 
2. he attended Kenton Grade School and Gresham High SChool. Mr Cavett had done 
railroad work and had worked as a truck driver for Maddox.

He also had been a mechanics instructor at Portland Community College and was 
a maintenance foreman for Oaks Amusement Park from 1983 until 1989. Mr. Cavett 
worked for a local rubber extracting company until his retiremnt because of 
illness in 1991.

Survivors include his wife Sharon, former wife Oma Cavett of Chinook Wash, 
daughters, Orchid Beale and Bambi Ooley of Portland, Melodie Coleman of 
TIgard, sons Britt of Estacada, Charles of CLatskanie, Brent and Bert of 
Gresham, stepdaughters Jeannie Chapman, Tracey Chapman and Sherry Chapman, all 
of Portland, foster daughter Cindy Grant of Portland, sisters LaVerne 
Jacobsen, Lorrain Merrell and LaVonne Schultz all of Portland and 41 
grandchildren.

The family suggest rememberances be contributions to Providence Milwaukie 
Hosptial's hospice program or Oregon Divison of the American Cancer Society.
