Mr.Groshong writes that the Brown neighbors have found where Mrs.Brown had been fighting fire near her home, and in doing so had used wet cloths. This has caused the neighbors to conclude that Mrs.Brown was either burned to death or was overcome by the heat. This theory is not generally accepted by the officials who conducted the inquest, who will not be satisfied that a crime has not been committed unless some explanation is made for the presence of a blood stained knife that was found beside the woman's body, and for the further fact that the door to the house wa slocked, with the key outside.
