Gus Barry Dead
The Injuries Inflicted By George Morey Proved Fatal yesterday
Gus barry,the hackdriver who was shot by George morey,on the 15th of last 
month,died at his home on Clay Street,near Second,last night at 10:30 o'clock 
and his body was removed to the morgue by Coroner Homan.
Before dying,barry told the version of the affair given him at the time was 
true,and if the facts are borne out upon trial,it will be difficult for Moery 
to escape conviction of muder.He claims that he was lying ini bed with his 
wife,about 1 0'clock in th emorning,when Moray suddenly entered the room and 
fired a shot at him. Barry jumped out and started for the door leading into 
the hallway,bu before he reached it another hsot was fired,and this time the 
bullet entered Barrys back and he fell to the floor.Officer Keith was soonon 
the scene and arrested Morey,who has since been in jail awaiting the result of 
his victims wound.
Barry seemed to improve for a while, but a week ago yesterday he took a turn 
for the worse,and Dr. Wheeler then saw that he coudl not live. The bullet was 
not located,but a post mortme examination will be held this morning,and the 
physicians will be able to tell what vital part was penetrated.
The Barry family isnot inclined to say just what caused the trouble between 
the two men,butit is supposed to be over Barry's sister in law,Annie 
Wtight,with whom Morey had been living. Coroner Hokman will hold an inquest 
thsi afternoon.
