Downing In the name of God, Amen: I, S. S. Downing of the County of Morrow, State of Oregon of the age of twenty eight years, and being of sound and disposing mind and memory and not acting under duress, menace, fraud or undue influence of any person whatever do make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say: First, I give and bequeath to my wife M. E. Downing the following described real estate to wit: the south west quarter (1/4) of Section twenty eight (28) Range twenty-four (24) East & Town two (2) South. Second, I give and bequeath to my said wife the following personal property to wit: Seven head of horses and two colts, one cow and & calf, four head of hogs, two wagons, blacksmith tools, all the harness belonging to said horses and all of the household furniture and all other property of every kind or nature. Thirdly. I direct that out of the above personal and real property after paying my funeral expenses and the expense of my last sickness all existing debts be paid. Lastly, I hereby appoint M. E. Downing my said wife the soul [sic] executrix of this my last will and testament without bonds. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th day of October 1889 Stephen S. Downing (seal) The foregoing instrument consisting of one page besides this one was at the date hereof by the said S. S. Downing signed and sealed and published as and declared to be his last will and testament in presence of us, who at his request, and in his presence, and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
