She was married to Walter M.Walker,July 6,1843. In the company of her husband and little daughter she left her old Missouri home for the perilous journey across the plains,starting on April 1,1848,reaching the Willamette Valley in October of that year.They settled in Spring Valley,where Mrs. Walker continued to reside until seven years ago,when she removed to Salem,making her home there until the time of her death,August 28,1904. Mrs. Walker and husband,who died eight years ago,were earnest members of the Baptist Church.Their lives are a rich heritage for their children and grandchildren. To Major and Mrs. Walker were born five daughters,Mrs.J.L. Purvine,Mrs.W.D.Jeffries(deceased),Mrs.D.G.Henry, Mrs. J.K.Sears (deceased) and Miss Dora.
