After high school, she entered Cardinal Stritch College and graduated in 1955. In the meantime, she did some training at the St.John's School for the Deaf, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In the early part of the 60's she continued teaching at St. John's and at the same time completed her M.A. degree in Education of the Deaf at Kent State University. The summers of 1965 and 1966 found her at Gallaudet and Ball State University to participate in Science and Math Institutes. By 1967 she had advanced to Vice Principal at St. John's. Finally in the fall of 1967 she came to O.S.S.D. She worked in a special reading program for grades 2-12. Again her summers were spent in workshops such as the 1968-69 Programmed Learning Institute at Las Cruces, New Mexico. In 1969 she became the Curriculum Director of our school. She also taught various college courses and written several published articles.
