At noon, on Wednesday, August 22, 1900, at the residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Brown, in Eagle Point, Paul E. Van Scoy, of Montague, Calif., and Miss Charlotte Brown, of Eagle Point, were united in marriage, Rev. W. T. Van Scoy officiating. The bride was dressed in white organdie and the groom in plain black. The guests were all relatives of the contracting parties. Many valuable presents were given. To Mrs. Brown belongs the credit of a most excellent and bounteous dinner, and to Mr. Brown the display of the old-time hospitality of the home. The bride and groom will spent three weeks visiting in the valley, and about September 10th they will begin housekeeping at Montague, Calif., where Mr. Van Scoy has a position with the Southern Pacific Company as day operator. They have the best wishes of their many friends.
