H. Downing, ofthis city, on May 15th, was the scene of a very pretty wedding, theirbeautiful and accomplished daughter, Maude, being united in marriage to Mr.J. E. Boswell. Miss Mary Downing, of Ashland, played the wedding marchwhich in sweet tones announced the approach of the bridal couple, attendedby the groom's brother and sister. The party paused under an elaborate archof evergreens and flowers while Prof. W. T. Van Scoy, assisted by Rev. W.B. M[ ? ], performed the ceremony, using the wedding ring. Aftercongratulations the company passed into the dining room and were seated attables laden with choice viands. The bride and groom received many valuablepresents from guests in attendance. The bride is well known as one ofJackson County's best school teachers, and the groom is in business here,where they will make their future home.
