PAYNE, Medford (Oregon) Mail, Friday, 15 May 1908, Phoenix Items, p. 3: The
many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Champ Payne, were grieved to hear of the death
of their eight months old baby last Wednesday evening. Many did not hear of
the sad occurrence until after the burial. Interment was made in Phoenix
cemetery.
