His remains were brought back to his home in Willow Springs precinct, from which place he was buried in the Jacksonville cemetery, under the auspices of the G.A.R. Hon. W. M. Colvig made a very sympathetic address at the grave. Mr. McCoy was an old and highly respected resident and leaves besides a wife and one child, a large circle of friends.
