daughter, born last Wednesday.

Additional Comments:
Note: Newspaper was published on Thursday, 2 Jan; the Wednesday one week 
earlier was Christmas Day. Feeling fairly certain that the column writer would 
have noted a child born on Christmas, and that usually neighborhood columns 
were mailed to the newspaper rather than phoned or driven in (it's a good 25-
30 miles or more from Evans Creek to Medford, a long trip in 1918, especially 
in December or January), the date of birth is more likely to be the 18th 
rather than the 25th.
