TOMORROW Funeral services for the Eagle Point pioneer, Nicholas Young, 69, who died yesterday, will be conducted from the Perl Funeral Home tomorrow at 2 p.m. The Rev. Harry Hansen, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will be in charge of the service and interment will take place in the Central Point cemetery. The Eagle Point Grange will have charge of graveside services. It is stated that friends are invited to attend the funeral and graveside services. Nicholas Young was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Young, Sr., and was born at the family farm a mile west of Eagle Point, April 24, 1875. The Youngs were among the earliest pioneer settlers of the Rogue River valley, coming here in 1852. As a boy Mr. Young attended the Eagle Point district schools and later followed general farming and livestock raising, engaging in this for practically his entire life. He was well known and highly respected by neighbors and friends. He was a member of the Eagle Point Grange. He was united in marriage to Ruby L. Haley, Dec. 23, 1925, who survives. Additional survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Annie M. Owens of Rt. 2, Ashland; Mrs. Catherine Givan and Miss Clara M. Young, Rt. 3, Eagle Point; two nieces and six nephews. Mr. Young's death occurred at the family home, located about a mile southwest of Eagle Point.
