L. Hyland, of Edenbower, Douglas county, from heart failure. The deceased up to a few days before her death had enjoyed perfect health, but two days prior to her demise was bothered with a slight stroke of paralysis and trouble with her heart, and her condition was not thought serious. Mrs. Whelpley was born and reared in Oregon and resided at Medford for many years, only a short time ago arriving to live at the home of her daughter in Edenbower. Nine children survive the deceased, including Mrs. B. L. Hyland of Edenbower; Mrs. Anna Dunlapp, Geo. Whelpley and Rose Heppner, of Medford; E. A. Whelpley of Tangent; R. H. Whelpley of Prescott, Wash.; Fred Whelpley of Witter Springs, Cal.; Mrs. E. J. Reynolds and Mrs. H. G. Jackson of Springfield. Funeral services were held Thursday, Rev. J. C. Spencer officiating, and interment was in the Masonic cemetery at Roseburg.
