Medford (Oregon) Mail, Friday, 18 Jan 1901, City Happenings, p. 7, c. 3 
Mildred, the little three-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Tryer, died 
Monday night from typhoid pneumonia. The funeral was held at the family 
residence Thursday, Rev. Gist, officiating. The little one had been ill but a 
few days and, notwithstanding everything that human aid could devise was done 
to relieve its suffering, nothing could prevail against the ravages of the 
disease. The stricken parents have the deepest sympathy of all in their 
affliction. Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Medford.
