William A. Tresham, 83, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Howard Harker, 
in Prineville, Ore., January 16, 1939. He was the son of John A. and Nancy 
Jane Tresham. Mr. Tresham was born April 27, 1856, at Manchester, Ohio.
He spent his early life and gained his education in the east, and was united 
in marriage to Miss Lena Jennings on May 1. 1884 at Atkinson, Neb.
In 1889, Mr. Tresham moved with his family to Gresham, Ore., where they 
resided for seven years, then moving to Sams Valley, where they have since 
made their home, except for 10 years, during which they lived at Bridgeview, 
Ore. He was a kind, loving father and husband, and was affectionately spoken 
of as Dad Tresham throughout Sams Valley. 
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Mrs. Lena Tresham, of Prineville, 
three sons and one daughter, Harry A. of Kerby, Ore., Otto R., of Sams Valley, 
Jesse D., of Gold Hill, Elsie D. Harker of Prineville; five grandchildren and 
three great-grandchildren; three brothers, C. B., of Hillsboro, Ivan L., of 
Hornick, Iowa, and J. S. Tresham of McMinnville; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth 
Miller, of Ticonic, Iowa, Mrs. Allie Wight, of Onawa, Iowa, Mrs. Eva Wright of 
Texon, Texas. He also leaves a large host of friends to mourn his passing. 
Funeral services will be held at the Perl Funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2 
o’clock, Rev. D. E. Millard officiating. Interment will take place in Siskiyou 
Memorial park.
