Thompson, who has resided just north of history for the past 33 years, and who died Feb. 9, was held today at Jacksonville, interment in the Jacksonville cemetery. Death was due to cancer. Mr. Thompson was aged 68 years and 10 months. He was a native of Missouri and a confederate army veteran. During the war he acted as a scout and was captured and imprisoned for two years. Thirty- three years ago he moved to Jackson county. He leaves a wife and three children, J. W. Thompson of Klamath Falls, Miss Polly Thompson of Seattle and Mrs. Sophronia Ferguson of Canada.
