Mr. Taylor was born at Gorrie, Ontario, Canada, March 13, 1862. He came to the States and located in Michigan, when a young man and for many years resided in Cheboygan. He was married there in 1899 to Cealia Allison who survives. In Cheboygan he operated a planing mill and followed contracting. Coming west, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor took up residence at Portland where they remained for 15 years and came to Medford 26 years ago. Upon arrival here Mr. Taylor invested extensively in city property and for many years operated the Valley Fuel Co., which he later sold to Harry Fradette. Out of a large family, he leaves only one brother, Fred Taylor, of Canada. Mr. Taylor held a life membership in the Masonic lodge of Bay City, Mich., was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a permanent contributing member of the Shrine hospital fund for crippled children in Portland. Funeral services will be held in Conger-Morris chapel at 3 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Harry Hansen officiating. Entombment in the Medford mausoleum will be under auspices of the local Masonic lodge.
