Swinden Taken By Death -- John Edward Swinden, long time resident of Jackson county, passed away at a local hospital Tuesday evening at the age of 52 years. Mr. Swinden was born at Gold Hill October 1, 1882, and spent his entire lifetime at Gold Hill and Jacksonville and leaves many friends throughout the county and southern Oregon. Besides his wife, Loretta Swinden, of Jacksonville, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Hope Paxton of Sutherlin, Ore., and Mrs. Frank Robinson of Medford. His mother, Mary Swinden, of Jacksonville, also survives. Also two sisters, Ada Rhoten and Miss Capitola Swinden of Jacksonville; one granddaughter, Beverly Paxton, and one uncle, Ed Swinden, Murphy, Ore. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. D. E. Millard at the Conger chapel at 2 p.m. Friday. Committal will follow in the Rock Point cemetery at Gold Hill.
